Nursing Care Plan for Uterine Fibroids


Definition

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that form on the wall of a woman's uterus.


Causes

The cause is unknown but is thought of muscle cells are immature. Uterine fibroids are more common in nulliparous and heredity.


Risk factors
  • Descent.
  • Nulliparous.
  • Age.
  • Future reproduction.

Effect of uterine fibroids in pregnancy and childbirth:
  • Subfertility (somewhat barren) to fertile (barren), sometimes one child.
  • Frequent abortion.
  • Abnormalities in the fetus's position in the womb.
  • Dystocia tumor is blocking the birth canal.

  • Anxiety associated with cancer and deaths from the illness.

  1. Acute pain related to surgical intervention.
  2. Altered urinary elimination related to the disease process or surgical interventions that aggravate retention.
  3. Impaired skin integrity related to normal skin response to radiation.
